Build the shutdown schedule and material readiness report
You are the Production Planner in the Engineering Office.
What has happened
The Mount Errol Quarries seventy-two hour shutdown starts at 6:00 am on 13 October 2026 and the plant must be handed back by 6:00 am on 16 October. The approved shutdown plan gives the scope, crews and sequence but not a shift-by-shift schedule. Materials are arriving against the delivery schedule: the bearings and chute liners are in, the jaw liner certificate is still requested, and the mobile welding unit is under repair after a yard incident. Jodie Ferrante needs a detailed schedule loaded against job card JC-26-0420, a material and equipment readiness check and a one-page risk summary for the General Manager so problems are fixed before mobilisation.
Deliverables
- Shift-by-shift shutdown schedule with critical path
- Labour hours estimate compared with the quoted hours
- Material and equipment readiness report
- One-page risk summary with actions
- Updated job card JC-26-0420
Documents to use
Systems to use
Job Card Register
Tracks every fabrication, machining and maintenance job from quote to close-out with customer, drawing, hours and status.
Materials and Certificate Register
Records receipts of steel, consumables and spares with purchase order, heat number, certificate reference and the job each item was issued to.
Plant and Equipment Register
Lists workshop machines, cranes, welding sets, measuring equipment and site tools with inspection, calibration and service status.
Training and Competency Matrix
Holds each worker's licences, welder qualifications, inductions and training with expiry dates so supervisors can allocate work to people who are current.
Units of competency
Current on training.gov.au for the Manufacturing and Engineering as at 10 September 2026.

Evidence guide
The schedule must respect the sequence and the day-shift-only constraint on the walkway hot work, show a credible critical path and stay within the fatigue limits in the fitness for work policy. The readiness report should catch the jaw liner certificate, the quarantined angle, the welding unit repair, the alignment kit calibration and the expiring induction. The risk summary should be one page, specific and actionable.
